Mt Deborah & Mt Hayes viewed from Richardson Highway
Fall comes early to this part of Alaska. It's early September and already the leaves have changed to their autumn hue. The hint of winter is in the air as the first snow of the season has come and melted.
Arguable one of the most dramatic places for photography in Alaska, within a space of 10 miles the road from Valdez goes through a narrow pass, then up over 2800 feet to the Thompson Pass. Shot in fall this photo shows the quick transition from summer to winter.
